OM! Complete That, complete this.
From the complete the complete
is taken, complete the complete arrives,
only the complete remains.
OM! Shanti! Shanti! Shanti!

1. Gautama said:
O Compassionate One, Bhagavan, knowing all dharmas,
knowing all scriptures,
(tell me), by what means is the attainment of the knowledge of Brahman?

2. The eternally youthful rishi Sanatkumara said:
Having discovered, having known the secret meaning of all the Vedas, having known
the Holder of the Trident (Shiva),
listen from me, Gautama, to the knowledge that Pravati gave –

3. That essence – ineffable, secret, for the initiated
giving the fruit of Liberation, like a Swan spreading
(wings).
Now we will tell about the transformation of the soul
into the Supreme Swan (paramahamsa)
well-intentioned, calm, humble,
loving the teacher.
Always thinking: "HAMSA! HAMSA!", penetrating into all bodies, exists like fire in all firewood, like oil in sesame. Death does not come to one who has learned this. Firmly squeezing the anus, raising the air from muladhara to svadhisthana, where three turns from left to right are needed, let him pass manipura, passing (it) – anahata with vishuddha, restraining the pranas, (he will reach) ajna chakra and Brahmarandra and thus three times (he will do) constantly
thinking: “I” Then: (the sound is heard) that (comes) from the (Root)
support to Brahmarandra. Like a pure crystal, it is truly called Brahman, the Supreme Atman.

2

Then they reflect: Swan – hamsa, unmanifest
gayatri – hymn, Supreme Swan – paramahamsa, “I am the seed”, “He is the power”, “He is I” – the core.
Such understanding) is achieved 21,600 times
(repeating the mantra) day and night. To the Sun and Moon, the Unspotted, the Invisible –
subtle, light (in us) let it manifest! Agni and Soma – VAUSHAT!

Touching the heart and other members,
perform (two rites) – offering and contemplation.
In the heart, the eight-petaled (lotus), having created the Swan itself, one should imagine (it) thus:
Agni and Soma are (its) wings,
the sign OM is the head, and the dot is the main eye,
Rudra and Rudrani are the paws,
both hands at the sides are Time and Agni.
Both are in it – the teacher and the teacher. This is that
Supreme Swan, shining with the brilliance of 10 million suns.
By this (vision) it is attained. The eight components of its revolution are as follows:
In the (eastern) petal – for virtue
aspiration;
in (the petal) Agni – sleep and lethargy abide;
in the (petal) of Yama – the desire for cruelty;
in the (petal) of Nirriti – anger;
in the (petal) of Varuna – for play;
in the (petal) of Vayavi – the urge to
wander;
in the (petal) of Soma – enjoyment
and satisfaction;
in the (petal) of Ishana – property and sacrifice;
in the middle (of the lotus) – dispassion;
in the stamen – the state of wakefulness;
in the seed pod – a dream;
in the pistil – oblivion. In the integrity of the lotus – the Fourth (state) occurs.
When the Swan disappears in the Sound, then the Fourth
state passes.
The unspoken mantra (ajapa-gayatri) leads to the absence of thoughts.
Thus everything is subject to the paramahamsa, since the Swan
makes the mind expand. By repeating the mantra millions of times this Sound
is realized.
Thus everything is subject to the paramahamsa, (and) ten kinds of Sound appear:
the first is ting,
the second is ting-ting,
the third is the sound of a bell,
the fourth is a conch,
the fifth is the sound of a stringed (instrument),
the sixth is a clap,
the seventh is a flute,
the eighth is a mridanga",
the ninth is a large war drum",
the tenth is the sound of thunder.
Having rejected the nine (first), let him
study the tenth. At the first – ting-ting – (sounds) the body, at the second – the body interferes, at the third – fatigue passes, at the fourth – the head trembles, at the fifth – nectar oozes from the palate, at the sixth – they enjoy amrita, at the seventh – (appears) knowledge of the secret, at the eighth – sublime speech, at the ninth – an invisible body, pure divine eyes. At the tenth – the Supreme Good will appear, Atman will merge with Brahman.
In That (state) the mind dissolves in the mind, desire-hesitation, virtue-sin are burned, (appears) Eternal Shiva, all-present Power and Himself (Atman), self-luminous, pure, eternally imperturbable, calm.

This is the explanation. This is the message of the Vedas.
