Krishnayajurveda
a group of Upanishads – Shaiva
Then Paipalada addressed the Lord and said: O Lord, Who was born before (all)?
Sadyojata.
Who is the Lord?
Vamadeva.
Who is the Lord of these two?
Tatpurusha.
Who else is the Lord of these two?
Ishana, the Lord of all gods. Ishana is the Lord of the past and the future, of all gods and yogis.
Paipalada asked: What are their colors, what are their differences, what are their Shaktis? All this is secret (tell me). Salutations to that Mahadeva, the Great Rudra!
Lord Mahesha replied to him.
Listen, Shalaka, I will tell you what is the most secret in the world.
1-2. Sadyojata is the earth, Pushan, Rama, Brahma, the triple svara (three types of Vedic stress), Rigveda, garhapatya fire, mantras, the seven vowels, the yellow color and kriya shakti, which bestows all that is desired.
3-6. Aghora is water, the moon, Gauri, the second (Yajur) Veda, nirdabha, svara, sandra, dakshina agni, fifty letters and the shakti of maintenance, will, action, protection, destroying all sins, removing all evil, giving all power.
Vamadeva, who gives great wisdom, is the essence of fire, connected with the vidya loka, shining like ten million suns, satisfied, called Samaveda, containing many eights.
7-9. Represented by dhira swara, the fire of avahaniya, containing the two shakti of sanity and destruction, the white color mixed with darkness, making the mind sharp, the lord of the three abodes, containing the three abodes, giving all benefits to people, endowing all actions with results, associated with the eight syllables, residing within the eight vessels.
10. He who is called Tatpurusha is associated with the region of the wind, associated with the five fires, the lord of the mantra shakti,
11. He is called the fifty varnas, vowels and others, the essence of the Atharva Veda, the Lord of millions and millions of ganas, the image of the infinite brahmanda.
12. His color is red, He is the fulfiller of desires, the cure for all diseases. The cause of creation, maintenance and destruction, containing all shakti.
13. The state of turiya, surpassing the three states (of consciousness) is called Brahman. He is the supreme Father of all, worshiped by Brahma, Vishnu and others.
14. One should know isana as the Ruler, the Witness of Consciousness. The essence of space, the unmanifested syllable OM adorned with swara.
15. Consisting of all the gods, (He) is peace, surpassing peace, beyond the manifestation of the world. The Lord of the vowels, beginning with A, the Form filling space.
16-19. The controller of the five actions, the great Essence of the five Brahmas, rolling up everything by the power of His Own Maya, He abides in His Own Atman. Surpassing the essence of the five Brahmas, He shines with His Own Light. In the beginning, in the middle and in the end, he shines (with His Light), and for no other reason. All the gods do not know Him, the Cause of all causes, deluded by the maya of Shambhu, the Teacher of the universe. No one has such a form except Purusha, the Universal abode, surpassing everything,
20. By whom everything is manifested and in whom everything is dissolved, He is Brahman, the Supreme peace. I am Brahman, the eternal Abode.
21. One should know these five Brahmas, beginning with Sadyojata. (Everything) that is seen and heard is the Self of the five Brahmas.
22. The five actions are considered the five duties of Brahman. Having known the duty of the five Brahmas, Ishana is attained.
23. Having immersed the Self of all the five Brahmas in one's own Atman, the one who knows Brahman: "He is I" (a person) becomes immortal.
24-25. He who knows Brahman Thus is liberated, without a doubt. Having known Shambha, consisting of five syllables, the inner Essence of the Supreme Brahman, one should pronounce the panchakshara (mantra) from NA to YA. One should know that everything is a fivefold Essence. In reality, it is the Essence of the five Brahmas.
26. He who with devotion contemplates the vidya constituting the Essence of the five Brahmas, attains that fivefold Essence (which) shines in him fivefold.
27. Thus spoke Mahadeva to Galava, the great soul. Having done mercy, He departed for His inner Abode.
28. By listening, the unlearned becomes learned, the uncomprehending becomes comprehending, the uncognized becomes cognized, O Shakala.
29. Being one, a lump of clay is physically distinct from all the clay vessels.
30. One lump of metal may be (similar to another) and one with other articles, but is tested by the nail.
31. Thus everything is known as non-different from its motivating cause. Also, the Cause is inseparable from the effect and the instrument.
32. So, Truth appears dual, but this is a mirage. The Cause is one, there is no duality, no basis for division.
33. Division is always false, indescribable are the qualities (of the highest Reality). Therefore the Cause is eternally one, without a second.
34. The non-dual cause is pure Consciousness. In this city of Brahman there is a small house, which is this (universe), O Sage!
35. In the middle of it is a lotus, in it is a small space. This is Shiva, Being, consciousness, Bliss to Whom those who desire Liberation rush.
36. In this Heart resides the Witness of everything without remainder. Therefore this Heart is called Shiva, the Rescuer from samsara.
Such is the Upanishad.
